Trail Opening at Weber-Kelly PreserveGeorgetown property open to the public!June 7, 2008 Jack Witham, President of LKRLT, spoke about Anne Weber's generous donation of the property in 1999, enabled by her sale of a very valuable painting by Ellsworth Kelly, a friend through her former husband, the artist Max Weber.
Hal's wife, Betty Cole, received the document and told the crowd a bit more about Anne Weber before giving the honor of cutting the ceremonial ribbon to four-year-old Henry Heyburn, son of LKRLT Outreach Coordinator, Alicia Heyburn. Bob and Kathy Gravino, generous LKLRT volunteers, then led a group of people on an historical tour of the property, all the way to the newly installed plaque commemorating Anne Weber. Thanks to all who attended, and please enjoy this beautiful addition to the public lands in the lower Kennebec region.

Over 40 people attended our ribbon cutting ceremony at the Weber Kelly Preserve on Bay Point Road in Georgetown. It was a wonderful afternoon for National Trails Day - clear skies, light breeze and the faint bellow of the fog horn in the distance.
